Place a container under the transmission filter to catch the
oil.

Remove transmission filter plug (3).
4.
Drain the oil, then tighten the plug.
5.
Turn transmission filter cartridge (4) counterclockwise by
using nut (5) welded to transmission filter cartridge (4) and
remove it.
6.
Clean the filter holder, coat the seal surface and thread of
the new filter cartridge with transmission oil, then install it.
When the seal surface comes into contact with the filter
holder, tighten a further 2/5 turns with the filter wrench.

Check that the oil level is correct. For details, see “METHOD FOR CHECKING OIL LEVEL IN TRANSMIS-
SION CASE, ADDING OIL (4-23)”.
8.
Check the transmission oil filter for oil leakage.
METHOD FOR CLEANING TRANSMISSION BREATHER
1.
Open the engine side cover on the right side of the ma-
chine.
2.
After removing dirt and dusts around breather (1), remove
breather (1) and immerse it in detergent liquid to clean.
While the breather is removed, take care to prevent entry
of dusts through the mounting location of the breather.
METHOD FOR LUBRICATING CENTER HINGE PIN
1.
By using a grease pump, pump in grease through the
grease fittings shown by arrows.
2.
After greasing, wipe off any old grease that is pushed out.
