Bus System marLED®/RS232
5.1
CAT Cabling
The CAT system for the marLED® bus (mLB) can be recognized by 1–2 RJ45 cables projecting from the
ceiling tube to be mounted.
Ceiling tube for 2 lights and 1 camera
1 RJ45 cable (1–2 items)
2 Power supply for operating lights
3 Camera video signals
These cables must be connected to the matching
couplers extending from the central bearing shaft.
If a camera is part of the configuration (either in the
light head or with its own arm), then its mLB is
integrated into the CAT system. The video signals are
transmitted by separate cables (3).
mLB wiring is done at this point with
1
RJ45 cable for 1–2 devices and with
2
RJ45 cables for
3–4 devices. The cables and couplers are lettered to prevent mix-up.
Mounting the central bearing shaft (8) on the ceiling tube
•
Plug the RJ45 cables (1) and (2) into the matching (identically
lettered) couplers (6) and (7) extending from the bearing shaft.

Make sure that the terminating resistor is configured correctly on
the marLED® board, see section 5.1.5 “marLED® Board”, page 31.
Danger of damage to light system and connected equipment!
The RJ45 cables of the light system are exclusively used for internal signal transmission within the light
system, and not for network connection. They may be connected only to the marLED® board supplied, not
to a computer network that may also be used! Be aware that non-compliance can destroy the light and
camera control systems and can also damage the network devices connected (PC, etc.)!
