(see chapter 7.)
.
Both programs (MOVEFAST.EXE and MOVEDATA.EXE) create ASCII-files of the
measured values stored by FLUXUS. The format of the files is in both cases exactly the
same. With any text processing program, the files can be visualised. This way, the
information which the files contain can easily be displayed, processed and printed. Use a
spreadsheet or other suitable program (Excel, Lotus 1-2-3, DaDisp, etc.) for further
processing of the created ASCII-files.
With the utility program
FLXtoTXT.EXE
, the binary files (*.FLX), created by
MOVEFAST.EXE, can be translated into ASCII-files with different formats. For this, the
PC, not FLUXUS, is used.
8.1 Utility Program MOVEFAST
Start the program MOVEFAST.EXE from the MS-DOS prompt using the following format:
SYNTAX:
movefast <OutputName> [/Cx] [<FormatOptions>]
PARAMETERS
:
<OutputName>
File name of the ASCII-file to be created. A file name must be
specified. The binary file being created will have the same name
but with file extension ‘.FLX’.
/Cx
Specifies the serial port.
Without specifying this parameter,
COM2
will be used.
/C1=COM1 ... /C4=COM4
[<FormatOptions>]
Specifies the format of the ASCII-file.
The available options are listed in chapter 8.3. If an option is not
specified, the respective default value will be used.
/xx+- means: /xx+ = option is on, /xx- = option is off.
Example:
movefast.exe data1.txt /C1 /SS+
The stored measured values are transmitted via serial interface COM1. The binary file
‘data1.flx’ and ASCII-file ‘data1.txt’ are created. Measured values will be separated with
a semicolon character.
8.2 Utility Program FLXtoTXT
Use the program FLXtoTXT to generate an ASCII-file from the binary file, created by
MOVEFAST:
SYNTAX:
flxtotxt <InputName> [<OutputName>] [<FormatOptions>]
PARAMETER
:
<InputName>
File name of the FLUXUS binary file. A file name must be
specified.
[<OutputName>]
File name of the ASCII-file to be generated. If this parameter is
not specified, FLUXUS will use the file name of the binary file, but
with the file extension ‘.TXT’.
[<FormatOptions>]
Specifies the format of the ASCII-file.
The same formatting options are used as for MOVEFAST.
Example:
flxtotxt data1.flx data1b.txt /TRIM
The binary file ‘data1.flx’ will be converted to ASCII-file ‘data1b.txt’, which can be read by,
e.g., text processing programs. The rows of measured data will be formatted without any
space characters.
