DANGER
Danger in potentially explosive atmospheres!
The motor may become a source of ignition in potentially explosive
atmospheres if it is not regularly serviced and cleaned. Dust deposits must
not ignite on hot surfaces.
•
The surface temperature of the motor must be significantly lower than
the glow temperature of deposited dust.
•
Carry out regular maintenance and observe the service intervals.
•
Clean the motor and prevent dust deposits of > 5 mm.
•
Clean existing air ducts regularly depending on ambient conditions.
If you want to clean the motor housing:
Use
only
isopropanol for cleaning.
Never use cleaning agents containing solvents.
Never immerse the engine in diluent.
Never spray the engine with diluent.
Never clean the engine with a steam jet.
Part of the maintenance of the motor is the replacement of the ball bearings.
Check the motor every 2,500 operating hours or at least once a year for unusual ball
bearing noises.
Under normal operating conditions, the service life of rotor ball bearings is at least 20,000 service
hours.
The following factors can reduce the service life of the ball bearings:
The axial or radial load is too high. This can be cause, for example, by the cogged belts
Non-centered installation; smooth running is impeded this way
If the bearings are worn, the grease is prone to dry out and to be contaminated which
results in a loss of lubricity up to running dry
If these factors apply, have the bearings replaced after at the latest 20,000 operating hours.
For this, please send the motor to Jetter AG.
Replacing the bearings before the motor shaft is worn helps to prolong the lifetime of the motor.
Replacing a completely damaged rotor exceeds the original price of the motor by about 50 %,
which means it is not profitable any more.
If there are unusual noises coming from the ball bearing:
Put the motor out of operation and remove it.
Do not disassemble the motor under any circumstances, as for reassembling specific
instructions and settings must be observed.
Send the motor to Jetter AG.
If you notice unusual noise from the motor (not the bearings):
