Notes on operating the motors in potentially explosive areas
3.4.9
In potentially explosive areas there are the following potential ignition sources:
There is a
danger from sparks, flames, high surface temperatures, sound energy,
electromagnetic waves and radiation
.
Do not unplug the drive during operation. Observe the hazard warning in chapter 2.4
Limit electrical disturbances, currents and speed. Observe the hazard warning in chapter
2.4 Residual dangers, page 20.
There is a
danger from electrostatic discharge
.
Make sure you have suitable drive belts. Observe the hazard warning in chapter 8.2.3
Clutch, timing belts, timing belt pulleys, radial and axial load, page 205.
There is a
danger from electrical leakage and stray currents
.
Make sure you have balanced voltage potentials. Observe the hazard warning in chapter
8.3.4 Danger from electrical leakage and stray currents, page 208.
There is a
danger due to inadmissible heating
.
Monitor the heat generated during operation by evaluating temperature sensors. Observe
the hazard warning in chapter 8.3.1 Heat build-up of the motor during operation -
Temperature monitoring, page 207.
Avoid surfaces that are too hot by dissipating heat sufficiently. Observe the hazard warning
in chapter 8.3.3 Heat build-up of the motor during operation - Heat dissipation, page 208.
There is a
danger due to a too high dust layer on the surface of the motor
.
Ensure that the motor is sufficiently cleaned. Observe the hazard warning in chapter 9.1
