Transmission Mode
Use the transmission mode (labeled “mode” on the overlay)
to put the radio terminal into line edit (block) mode or char-
acter mode. To alternate between modes, press
[GOLD]+[F5]. The modes are described on pages 8-55 and
8-56 in Section 8, “Programming.”
When “lock mode” is disabled through the firmware menus,
you can press the mode key to toggle between line edit
mode and character mode. When lock mode is enabled, you
cannot toggle between line edit (block) mode and character
mode. The default setting is “disabled.”
Local Edit Mode
If your application software program supports local editing
you can use the radio terminal in local edit mode, which is a
feature of the VT330/VT340 terminal. Local edit mode is
described on page 8-62 in Section 8.
