Chapter 6 — Troubleshooting and Maintaining the CK1

the old firmware is erased.

Running Diagnostics

You can run the following diagnostics on the CK1:

• SDRAM: checks the memory on the CK1.

• Keypad: displays the value of the key you press.

• Screen (LCD): turns on the lights and displays different

screen images.

• Real-time clock (RTC): checks that the CK1 is keeping the

time correctly.

Note:

Before debugging the RTC, you need to set the date

and time. For help, see “Configuring the Date and Time” on
page 26.

• Scanner: checks the scanner when you press the

Scan

button.

• Buzzer: checks the buzzer tones.

• Serial communication (RS-232): checks that the CK1 can

communicate through a serial connection.
