Configuration Checklist
All of the following configuration steps carried out on MVS require
appropriate RACF authority.
1.
Using the printer operator panel, set up the IPDS printer
emulation to 6408/6412.
2.
Set TCP/IP addresses for the printer, such as IP address,
gateway address, or subnet mask. See “Configuration Tools”
on page 32.
3.
Configure the host environment. See “Configuring PSF for
MVS to Print IPDS Files” on page 227.
4.
Verify the configuration. See “Verifying a TCP/IP-Attached
Printer on MVS” on page 237.
5.
If you want to share the printer, do the procedure in “Sharing
IBM 4400 Printers on MVS” on page 238.
6.
If you have problems, refer to “Handling MVS Connectivity
Problems” on page 240.
