Cut with the Hand Torch

Powermax65/85/105 SYNC

Operator Manual

Start a cut from the edge of the workpiece

Slag produced during piercing can cause damage to the tip of the cartridge. Start the cut from the
edge of the workpiece, when possible, to decrease this damage and to optimize cartridge life.

With the work clamp attached to the workpiece, hold the torch tip perpendicular (90°) to the
edge of the workpiece.

Pull the torch’s trigger to start the arc. Stay at the edge until the arc has cut completely through
the workpiece.
