You can use the following gases to cut with this plasma power supply. Refer to
on page 24 for requirements on gas quality.
Air
Nitrogen
Do NOT use oxygen to cut with Powermax systems
F5 (stainless steel only)

If you use high-pressure gas cylinders as the gas supply, then do the following:
Refer to the manufacturer’s specifications for installation and maintenance procedures of
high-pressure regulators.
Make sure that the cylinder has an adjustable high-pressure regulator with the following
capabilities:
Gas outlet pressures up to 9.3 bar (135 psi).
Never use more than the maximum gas
pressure of 9.3 bar (135 psi).
The following gas flow rates:
Powermax65/85 SYNC: 236 L/min (500 scfh)
Powermax105 SYNC: 260 L/min (550 scfh)
Make sure that the cylinder valves are clean and free of oil, grease, and other contaminants.
Open each cylinder valve just long enough to blow out any dust that is possibly present.
Connect the supply hose correctly to the cylinder.
