Configuring the Remote Support Modem
Configuring Individual Modems
Supported cables:
■
HP 92219Q - Bell, CCITT_OM, CCITT_AM
■
A1703-64006 - CCITT_BIS_OM, CCITT_BIS_AM
Auto-dial modes: Hayes, V.25bis.
NOTE
The version of the modem has a problem when dialing with V.25bis; if
the number that is dialed is busy, DSR does not drop. This same
problem causes V.25bis error indications to be improperly decoded,
meaning that the modem time-out timer must expire before we know
that the attempt failed. This also means that multiple dialing attempt
always fails. If the DSR jumper is set so that DSR follows DCD, this
problem goes away.
Settings
The configuration of the hardware switches on the modem are:

For Hayes mode to work correctly,
AT&R0
must be set so that it drops CTS when the
connection goes down. For Hayes,
AT$V0
must be set. For V.25bis dialing,
VT$V1
and
AT$BA1
must be set.
