(4) Control Module…..
Removal
Prior to working on any sensitive electronic components, always ground yourself, (touch
the sink or a radiator, to dissipate any static electricity in your body), and never touch any
of the circuits or components on the board, because you could inadvertently damage
them. When you have to touch the boards do so by holding the edges only.
1.
First do
(1), (2), (3)
2.
Set the selector knob to 0, (this will give you a reference point when refitting the
board). All new modules are set at 0 so if you have to replace it the dial will be in the
right place.
3.
Remove the last remaining internal cable connection (if you have one). This would be
for machines with variable temp & speed controls.
(Retaining clip)
4.
Release the module from the facia by easing the retaining
clips outward whilst gently lifting the module.
5.
Do this to each clip and the board will come free.
(4a) Control Module….
Fitting
1.
Follow the same precautionary action regarding static
electricity as with
(4).
2.
3.
Hook the cut out in the top of the module into the moulding and under the lips on the
panel.
4.
Make sure the control dial is still on 0.
5.
Press the control module against the facia panel; you will hear the latches click as
they grip the board.
6.
Check the dial was set correctly by observing these contacts, they should be open, and
closed when the dial is rotated in either direction.
7.
Reconnect the wire plug for temp and speed control (if
they are fitted).
8.
Refit all the other wiring connections. (If you forgot to
take note where they came from, look up the wiring
section in this manual).
9.
Now do
(3a),(2a),(1a)
NOTE:
If when you start up there is only a short fill and it stops,
swap these two wires over because you have them
connected wrong.
