Relieving the track belt
¾
Connect the hydraulic line, start the tractor
and switch the control unit to floating position.
¾
Open the tensioning valve to relieve the pres-
sure, until the pressure gauge shows 0 bar.
This process can take up to 5 minutes. Close
the valve and shut down the tractor engine.
Tensioning/relieving the track belt
The track belt is tensioned via a hydraulic pres-
sure accumulator system. The system applies
pressure to the pre-tensioning cylinder. The
pressure accumulator is filled with nitrogen. In
order to keep the pressure at a constant level
during operation, the gas is able to expand or
retract. This results in a dampening effect.
Tensioning the track belt
¾
Close the lock valve. This valve is installed
upstream of the pressure gauge on the side
of the caterpillar undercarriage.
¾
Connect hydraulic connection and tractor
control unit with a hydraulic hose. Start the
tractor engine and operate the control unit to
apply pressure to the line.
¾
Slowly open the tensioning valve to increase
the hydraulic pressure in the pressure accu-
mulator system.
¾
Once the correct pressure (100 bar) is
reached, close the valve completely and
switch off the tractor control unit.
¾
Travel a distance of approx. 60 meters and
check the pressure again. Air losses can
cause a pressure drop in the undercarriage. In
this case reconnect undercarriage and tractor
control unit to be able to adapt the pressure.
¾
Then tension the undercarriage on the op-
posite side.
