Operation
Whenever working on the machine pay
attention to the associated safety notes
in the chapter "Safety and prevention
of accidents"!
Commissioning / Tractor
change
During initial commissioning and when chang-
ing the tractor, the machine must be adapted
to the tractor.
WARNING
Dropping / lowering machine parts can cause
severe crush injuries etc.!
Instruct persons to leave the danger zone. Comply
with the accident prevention instructions.
Adapting the PTO shaft

Danger of being injured by the PTO-shaft

The PTO-shaft should only be shortened in a
specialist work shop!
¾
Check propshaft protection and chain guard.
¾
Ensure sufficient overlapping of the protective
features on tractor or machine and propshaft
(min. 5 cm).
¾
During operation keep a sufficient safety dis -
tance to propshafts. Instruct persons to leave
the danger zone.
¾
When lifting the machine consider the permis-
sible angle of the propshaft.
¾
Do not touch any heated components on the
propshaft.
PTO shafts as well as overload and overrunning
clutches depend on equipment and power.
These items must never be replaced by other
equipment.
Install the PTO-shaft only with the engine
stopped and the PTO-shaft switched off.
Use only PTO-shafts with proper safety
protections!
The PTO-shaft locks must click into place.
Working length
Working length of PTO-shaft
Try to achieve maximum overlapping. During
operation the PTO-shaft must only be extended
by half the tube connection overlap Pu that exists
in fully retracted condition Lz.
The working length of the PTO-shaft depends on
the distance between the drive shaft on the trac-
tor and the hitching point (A) and the distance
between both drive shafts (B).

The length of the PTO-shaft shaft is measured
in straight ahead and fully steered position. The
PTO-shaft is cut to the shortest length.
One must thereby make sure that the distance
between the stub ends only becomes smaller in
case of vertical movements of the tractor (only
tractor heading uphill).
Check and, if necessary, adapt the PTO-
shaft individually for each tractor. It must
neither be too long, nor too short.
Therefore always check the length of the
PTO-shaft when changing the tractor!
Follow the operating instructions for the
PTO-shaft!
