5. Verify the settings with the test program in the E-Manager, see section
Check-
ing
.
6. After the test was successful, install the matching components on all drill units
and perform the same settings on all metering units.
7. If the separation quality is not satisfactory, install the metering disc with the
next smaller or next larger hole diameter and run the test again.
8. Select the metering disc that produces the best singulation quality and install it
in all metering units.
2 Adjusting the
Overpressure
1. Activating Metering fan and setting the required speed.
2. Refer to the settings table for the required Overpressure, see below.
3. Adjust the Overpressure while the fan is running, see chapter
Pneumatics
.
4. Check on all metering units whether seed is present at the seed supply.
5. Check the pressure on the associated pressure gauge.
NOTE
Check the Overpressure regularly during drilling.
Notes on pressure
adjustment
1. Once the operating temperature has been reached in the hydraulic system, the
fan speed may require some minor correction.
2. The Overpressure must be adjusted, depending on the grain shape, weight
and conditions of use.
3. The effects of changing the vacuum become only apparent by testing.
4. For sunflowers, set the Overpressure as low as possible.
5. Maximum Overpressure:
6. Check the Overpressure once more during drilling and adjust if necessary. The
pressure changes when all metering discs are filled with grains.
Example (see Settings
table)
Maize with average grain size
• Metering disc 01240750
• Grain feed gate: Position 5-6
• Ejection wheel: Number of teeth 7 (01240781)
• Separator: 1-0 (01240800)
• Overpressure:
3 Checking the settings
Check the settings on the metering unit before filling in the seed:
• Is the Barrel seated correctly?
• Does the metering disc been selected to match the seed and has it been set ac-
cordingly in the drill controls?
• Have separator and push-out wheels been correctly selected and installed?
• Has the grain feed gate been set correctly?
• Is the Overpressure correctly adjusted?
• Have the hoses and cables been securely fastened to the metering unit?
