Wiring
The S7999B must be appropriately wired for both power and
communications. An external 12V power supply with an
appropriate power rating is connected to both pins 1 and 2 to
power the device.
Communication is done over two RS-485 busses:
• COM 1: a bus directly to the R7999 device or to the
Modbus™ network that connects all S7999Bs together
(System Modbus™)
• COM 2: a bus to the Modbus™ network containing
S7810M devices and UDC controllers.
S7999B wiring connections are listed in the table below:
Fig. 14. S7999B connector terminals.
An RJ45 jack can optionally be wired with a 10 base-T
Ethernet cable for Internet access.
The S7999B communicates with the UDC controllers via a 3-
wire RS-485 interface using the Modbus™ protocol.
The System S7999B communicates with Local S7999Bs via a
3-wire RS-485 interface using the Modbus™ protocol.
The S7999B is compatible with R7999 build 140 and newer,
and with S7810M build 6020 and newer.

Modbus™ network can not be commissioned
through the S7999B. The R7999 can only be
commissioned when it is attached to the COM 1 port
and the Home page view context is set to “Local
Fuel/Air Control”.
