Joining a Harmonic MediaGrid cluster to a Local User Authentication Domain
4. Save the record and then repeat the steps above for each additional server. Include the
server you are currently using.
Result:
The Managed Servers list displays each server that you added and its connection status
between it and the current device.
Adding groups and users to a cluster
Create groups and associated user accounts that you can use across all clustered devices.
You must create groups for any given user before you create that user.
Adding a group to the cluster
1. As an administrator, log on to High Bandwidth ContentBridge or ContentDirector at https://
<ip address>:8080/.
Note the HTTPS connection (secure SSL over the wire), and port 8080, which provides the
Webmin service.
2. Go to
Cluster
>
Cluster Users and Groups
>
Common Groups
> and click
Create a new group
.
3. Enter the group name and click
Create
.
Adding a user to the cluster
1. As an administrator, log on to High Bandwidth ContentBridge or ContentDirector at https://
<ip address>:8080/.
2. Go to
Cluster
>
Cluster Users and Groups
>
Common Users
> and click
Create a new
user
.
3. Enter the details of the user such as name, password, group membership, and click
Create
.
Synchronizing users and groups to an RMA system
Resynchronize all user and group accounts across all clustered devices.
Note:
The
Common Users
and
Common Groups
tabs will be empty until after the
synchronization (because the RMA system has none of the common users or groups).
If you have changed the username or password for the RMA
1. As an administrator, log on to High Bandwidth ContentBridge or ContentDirector at https://
<ip address>:8080/.

2. Mouse-over the RMA system, and click the (Edit) link.
3. Enter the new details of the administrative user (username and password), and click
Save

Resynchronize users and groups across the cluster

<ip address>:8080/.
2. Go to
Cluster
>
Cluster Users and Groups
and click
Synchronize
.
3. From the
Synchronize Servers
page, select
All missing users
and
All missing groups
to
associate records stored in one device with all associated devices.

Create Users and Groups
