9. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
Careful and proper installation of the pump, controls and pipes are indispensable for in
-
terruption-free operation. Failure to comply with the explanations given in these operating
instructions can result in personal injury and material damage, premature wear of the pump
and exclusion of liability.
For safety reasons, and to avoid personal injury and material damage, the following points must be taken into
account before starting the installation.
- During installation, no inflammable environment must exist in the pit.
- Do the available parts correspond to the quantities and specifications in the parts lists, any structure draw
-
ings and other order documents?
- Have the pump pit, foundations, installations surfaces, cut-outs and anchor holes been made correctly and
true to size in accordance with the plans and drawings?
- Is the energy required for the setup and later operation available in the correct form (e.g. water connection
for cleaning works)?
- Has separate disposal been ensured, e.g. by making sure that only domestic waste water - as described
in Chapter
“8. Area of application and intended use”
- is allowed to enter the pump pit?
- Have the legal regulations, norms and provisions been taken into account in the layout and installation of
the pipes (notably where protected groundwater areas are crossed)?
- Has the pressure line been installed in a way that is frost-resistant (at least 100 cm - see Chapter
)?
- Has the connection control pit and the subsequent short open channel been constructed in accordance
with the official regulations?
- For the installation, the pit must be dry and clean.
- Has a leakage test been conducted?
- Have direction changes in the piping and installed connection parts been measured at least every 100m,
and have they been marked accordingly?
- Has a positioning or warning strip been installed?
- The measurements of the central pit must be made in such a way that they meet the following require-
ments:
- The usable volume must be of such a size that it corresponds to the start frequency / hour.
- The duration of the pump standstill must be set up in such a way that the formation of hard deposits is
avoided.
- Minimal immersion depth:
see Chapter
“9.4.1. Fixed wet installations”
“9.4.2. Mobile wet installations”
.
Maximum immersion depth:
see Chapter
- The base for automatic latching of the pump must be securely fastened to the setup area.
- The suction pipe of the electric pump must always be located at the lowest point and centraly located (for
Ecocut and Ecovox pumps).
- Within the plant, the operator is responsible for ensuring that the working pressure never rises above 16
bar.
- When entering, the fluid must not cause any turbulences in the center of the pit which would lead to the
pump sucking in air.
- In order to avoid possible blockages, it must be ensured that the flow rate in the pressure lines always re
-
mains above 0.8 - 1 m/s. In order to avoid flow losses and wear, the flow rate should, however, not exceed
2 m/s.
