JUMP STARTING
If your battery is flat, you may use
another vehicle and some jumper
leads to start your vehicle.
The other vehicle must have a
12-volt battery with a negative
earth.
If the other vehicle does not
have a 12-volt battery with a
negative earth, both vehicles
could be damaged.

NOTICE
Trying to start your vehicle by
pushing or pulling it won't work
and could even damage your
vehicle.
&
CAUTION
Batteries have acid that can
burn you and gas that can
explode. You can be hurt badly
if you aren't careful. See the
section titled "How to Use this
Handbook" for tips on how to
work around a battery without
getting hurt.
Do not use a match or flame
near a vehicle's battery. If you
need more light, use a
flashlight.
&
CAUTION
Every new
GM
vehicle uses a
battery that requires no mainte
nance. However, if another
battery has filler caps, be sure
the right amount of fluid is
I
there. If it is low, add water to
make sure that
there is
no
explosive gas present.
