Starting and Operating Instructions
In order to shift into
P
(Park), do
the following:
1
. Hold the regular brake pedal
down.
2.
Set the park brake.
&
CAUTION
�v1ake sure
that the transfer case
is in a drive gear and not in
neutral. Otherwise, the vehicle
will be free to roll even if the
shift iever is in
P
(Park).

3.
Shift into
P
(Park).
- Press and hold the button at
the end of the shift lever.
- Move the shift lever all the
way forward.
4.
Turn the ignition key to
lOCK.
5.
Lock all doors and take the key
with you when you leave the
vehicle unattended.

CAUTION
Do not leave your vehicle while
the engine is running.
The vehicle could move
suddenly. You or others may be

injured and objects could be
damaged.
Park on a level surface, set the
park brake firmly and shift the
automatic transmission into
P
(Park).
If you are going to leave your
vehicle, set the park brake
and shift the transmission to
P
(Park) but do not shift the
transfer case to the
N
(Neutral)
position. Leave the transfer case
in gear.
