Generator operation
7.6.3 Check insulation monitor
Warning
Risk of injury and risk of damage!
y The insulation monitor must trip.
► Every work day, check generators with the option
“insulation monitor with disconnection” to ensure that the
insulation monitor is working correctly.
► Only put the generator into service when the check showed
that the insulation monitor was in correct working order.
Check the insulation monitor as follows

> Remove all devices and cables connected to the generator.
> Start the drive unit. Only perform the check when the generator is
running.
> Open the cover to the switch box.
> Switch on the switch of the insulation monitor (position “ON” or “I”).
> Press the red check button. The check button also acts as a signal lamp at
the same time.
The insulation monitor should trip.
> Check whether the insulation monitor has tripped and the red signal lamp
“INSULATION FAULT” lights up.
Important
y The insulation monitor must trip.
► If the insulation monitor does not trip, refrain from using the
power generation system any longer.
► In this case, flag the power generation system as faulty and
have it repaired.

Resetting the insulation monitor
>
Stop the drive unit.
>
(Switch back on the switch of the insulation monitor
(position “ON” or “I”).
>
Correctly close the cover of the switch box (tighten lock screws by hand).
After a successful check, the generator is ready for use.
