RepRap
Please note:
Do not open the main lid of the printer while a print job is running, also not while
the tool head moved to its parking position.
Otherwise the current print job will be lost.
After entering the printers EEPROM scroll all the way down until you can see the parameters for the
Extruder2.
The distance in X- and Y-direction needs to be converted from mm to steps first. For both axis (X & Y)the
amount of steps per millimetre is 1218.
The distance of the second extruder to the first one is approx. - 33mm, which will result in a step-value of
approx. - 40194 steps. ( Distance in mm * 1218 steps/mm = distance in steps)
EEPROM - extruder offset, Repetier-Server
Please note:
The Step-Value is a negative one.
It is calculated based on the machine zero point of the 3D printer. Which is the
back right corner from a user point of view.
Although both hot ends are mounted on one tool-slide, they have a offset in both direction due to manual
fabrication and assembly. The offset in Y-direction is in general smaller then 1 millimetre.
Please keep the offset of both extruders in Z-direction at the same value. Use the knurled knob to adjust the
height of the second extruder (see page 35).
8.4 Filament Tracking System (FTS)
The Filament-Tracking-System will automatically pause your ongoing 3D print in case filament is running
out.
Additionally, if the FTS senses a deviation between the calculated and the extruded amount of filament, it
will automatically slow down your current print job. If this action will not reduce the deviation it will pause
the print and wait for a user interaction.
