Zone alarm signaling application 

In zone alarm signaling applications, audible detector bases in the 
same notification zone are activated using a CRR module when any 
one of their detectors is activated (initiate an alarm event). Signal 
synchronization is not required because alarm signals are limited to 
the same notification zone. 

The audible detector bases, once activated, continue to sound an 
alarm signal until: 

•  Smoke is cleared from the active detectors and the control 

panel is reset 

•  Signal Silence is pressed 

•  The control panel’s Auto Signal Silence timer expires, if 

programmed. This can be from 5 to 30 minutes. 

Typically, the 24 VDC riser that supplies power to the audible 
detector bases is supervised using an RM1 module. You can also use 
a CT1 module and a PAM-1 control relay.
