Loading Paper
Loading Paper in the Bypass Tray
Important
• Load the paper into the bypass tray while the printer is switched on.

Gently pull open the bypass tray cover.
Important
• Do not apply excessive force to the bypass tray cover when you open or close it, doing so may damage
the machine.

Slide the paper guide to the edge of the tray
while pinching the knob on the right paper
guide. The paper guides should be fully
extended.
3.
Insert the paper into the bypass tray with
the side to be printed facing up and with all
four corners aligned.
Slide the paper guide until they rest lightly
against the edge of the paper stack.
Important
• Align the paper guides with the paper width correctly.
Be careful not to bend the paper.
• Do not load paper exceeding the maximum fill line or
the maximum capacity allowed.
4.
Close the bypass tray cover.
Note
• When you print on paper fed from the bypass tray, set the paper size and type in the printer driver.
• When [Bypass Mode] is set to [Control Panel], you need to set the paper type and size settings for the
tray on the control panel in advance. For details, refer to “Tray Settings” (P. 38).
