Blood Component Containers
The disposable kit includes three containers that are used for
temporary or, in some instances, final storage of blood
components.
Plasma Container.
This container holds plasma that is
separated from the red cells during the procedure. The plasma
container has an icon that matches the icon above the plasma
scale to aid in kit loading.
Red Cell Container.
The red cell container holds red cells that
are collected during the procedure. The red cell container has an
icon that matches the icon above the red cell scale to aid in kit
loading.
In-Process Container.
The in-process container holds a
portion of the donor’s incoming anticoagulated whole blood
during the draw phase. This anticoagulated whole blood is
processed during the return phase. The in-process container has
an icon that matches the icon above the in-process scale to aid in
kit loading.
