The following directions are recommended for the installation of 
the disposable kit on the instrument. 

WARNING:  Use only Fenwal approved kits on the A

LYX

 

Component Collection System. 

WARNING:  Disposable kits and sterile solutions are for 
single use only. 

WARNING:  Discard the kit and needle if the needle 
becomes contaminated. 

1.  Ensure the 

load kit prompt

 is displayed on the touch screen. 

2.  Open the centrifuge door. 

3.  Remove the shrink-wrap from the kit. 

Note:  

The shrink-wrap does not function as a sterile barrier.  

The needle cover serves as the sterile barrier and should remain 
intact and undisturbed until use. 

4.  Remove the clip holding the solutions in place, if applicable. 

5.  Raise the kit support on the right side of the instrument and 

place the kit tray on the kit support.
