The following are electrical requirements for the instrument:
•
Operating voltage is 90 to 264 VAC.
•
Voltage line frequency is 47 to 63 Hz.
•
Maximum power is 2A at 120 VAC in the US and 1A at
250 VAC in Europe.
The instrument comes standard with both a 9-foot and a 20-foot
power cord in the US and a 3-meter power cord in Europe.
The A
LYX
instrument is considered Class I, Type BF equipment
for protection against shock using IEC 60601-1 guidelines.
The A
LYX
instrument is designed to meet specific
electromagnetic interference (EMI) standards, with testing
performed to IEC 60601-1-2, Part 2, Reference to
Electromagnetic Compatibility.
When the instrument is being used outside of a health care
facility, it is recommended the instrument be plugged into a
grounded energy source that conforms to all current local
electrical codes and regulations for electrical safety in commercial
and residential buildings (in the US, refer to National Electrical
Code, National Fire Protection Agency [NFPA] 70) using a
power cord that meets the specifications provided below and a
list of markings from agencies outside the U.S. for safety
specifications for power cords to be used with the A
LYX
instrument.
The A
LYX
instrument uses two, 2 amp, 250 volt fuses in the US
(Fuse type – Series 218, Metric 5x20 mm, Time Delay). In
Europe, the A
LYX
instrument uses two, 1 amp, 250 volt,
SLO-BLO fuses.
The A
LYX
instrument provides a maximum energy output of
720 kJ (683 BTU) per hour.
CAUTION:
Only operate the instrument with a Fenwal
approved power cord within the United States.

Outside the United States, only operate the
instrument with a Fenwal approved cord or a power cord that
meets the specifications outlined in this manual.

approved power cord or a power cord that meets the following
