Load duty cycles
Load cycle S1
Continuous duty.
Operation with constant load and long enough to achieve
thermal balance.
Load cycle S3-5%
Periodic intermittent duty.
Succession of identical duty cycles each having a
period at constant maximum load and a period at constant rated load. In
this duty cycle, the overheating effect of the start-up current is negligible. A
5% cyclic duration factor means that for every 10 second cycle it works at a
constant current of IS3-5% (2xI
N
) for 0.5 seconds and at rated current for
9.5 seconds.
Load cycle S6 -40%
Periodic uninterrupted duty cycle with intermittent load.
Succession of identical
duty cycles, each with a running period under constant load and another
period without load. There is no rest period. A 40 % cyclic duration factor
means that for every 10 minute cycle, it works at constant current of IS6-
40% for 4 minutes and without a load for 6 minutes (with magnetizing
current = 0.7 x rated current I
N
).
F. H3/5
Load cycle S1.
F. H3/6
Load cycle S3-5%.
F. H3/7
Load cycle S6-40%.
