8.5.12 Connecting the +24 V DC from an auxiliary power supply
All the electronic modules making up the QC-PDS system need to be
powered with +24 V DC for their operation. Therefore, they must all be
powered through the A18 connector via an auxiliary power supply, if
applicable, the QC-BPM-100 module. It may be required that several
auxiliary power supplies are installed, depending on the demand of the
installed units. See the figures below.
QC-APS-15 + QC-PS-045
The connection is made using two 2.5 mm² conductors to connect,
respectively, the under cover +24V/GND terminals of the A18 connector of
the QC-APS-15 auxiliary power supply with the under cover +24V/GND
terminals of the A18 connector of the adjacent QC-PS-045 power supply.

WARNING.
VERY IMPORTANT
. If several auxiliary power supplies are
installed, NEVER CONNECT their under cover 24 V DC outputs

, TOGETHER.
MANDATORY. The +24 V DC integrated auxiliary power supply ensures
that the voltage is maintained while the motors are braking after the
power has been interrupted. This is an absolute must in order to comply
with the EC requirement for the machine.
WARNING. The +24 V DC can also be used in the
circuit of the electrical cabinet, but
Never activate the holding brake of the motor!
WARNING. The +24 V DC voltage output from the auxiliary power supplies
must only be used to power the +24 V DC control input of the modules and,
if applicable, the QC-BPM-100. This voltage cannot be used to connect any
other kind of device of the machine nor to take this signal outside the
electrical cabinet where it is generated.
INFORMATION. Proper performance cannot be ensured for all possible
cases and situations, especially when inductive components have been
connected.
