3
Press F3 (ACCESS CARTRIDGES) to move the carriage to the position
which allows cartridge replacement.
4
Close the clamp of the induction tube for the cartridge you want to remove.
5
Remove the ink cartridge. Do not turn it upside down because air will enter
the induction tube and you will have to draw ink into it again.
6
Slightly moisten a paper towel with water, then place it against the jet
nozzle at the bottom of the ink cartridge to soak up the ink. Blot only, do not
rub.
7
Open the clamp of the ink induction tube, then use the ink suction bulb in
the ink tool kit to extract ink from the jet nozzle.
8
Reinstall the cartridge in the carriage.
9
Press F3 (ACCESS CARTRIDGES) to return the ink cartridges to the
service station.
10 Press F4 (PRIME) to check cartridge operation. Repeat this test until ink is
properly emitted.
11 If ink is not properly emitted even after repeatedly running the print test,
clean the cartridge again, and rerun the print test. If satisfactory results
cannot be obtained, replace the cartridge with a new one.
12 Calibrate the cartridge position as described in Appendix A.
