atmospheres. The components in the optical compartment are mounted on a metal
baseplate that is sealed to prevent gases from entering the electrical compartment.

The electrical compartment contains a PC and numerous electrical/electronic components
that are not certified for use in hazardous atmospheres. To prevent explosive gases from
entering the electrical compartment, it is sealed and held at a positive air pressure - above
the surrounding air pressure - when the analyzer is switched on.
