5: Serial Communication Wiring

Configure the Network settings using the following steps: 

1. Using Port 1, Port 4 (RS485 connection), or the optical port, connect a PC to the 

meter. An RS232/RS485 converter may be required (e.g., Electro Industries 
Unicom 2500).

2. Double-click on CommunicatorPQA Software to open it.

3. Click the 

Quick Connect

 or 

Connection Manager

 icon in the icon tool bar.  

4. Click the 

Serial Port

 button. Make sure data matches the meter, then click       

Connect

. 

Set the Network using the following steps:  

1. From the Device Profile menu, click 

General Settings>Communications

> and 

then click on one of the listed ports.
