Capturing Video from a PC NLE System
If you want to connect the PR-1000HD directly to PC non-linear software via a DV cable in order to
capture material, perform the capture as follows.
1.
In the lower right of the Edit mode screen, click the [Capture] button.
The "Capture" window will appear.

Enter a name for the new material that you intend to capture.
Click the "Name:" box and type the name from the keyboard.

Select the input jack to which the PC is connected.
4.
Click "PC non-linear" to add a check mark.
5.
Select the format of the HDV stream that you're inputting.
6.
Select the format of the HDV stream that you're inputting.
For details on how to output an HDV stream, refer to the owner's manual of your PC non-linear
software.
7.
Click the [Start] button to begin the capture.
* You won't be able to assign a name to the material while the capture is occurring.
* The "Capture" window cannot be closed during the capture. To close the "Capture" window, stop the
capture as described in step 6, and then click the "Close" button.
8.
Click the [Close] button to stop the capture.
When you stop the capture, the video that has been captured up to that point will be treated as
one item of material.
9.
Click "Close" to close the "Capture" window.
10.
The captured material will appear in the materials list in edit mode.
When capturing HDV, you should also capture several seconds before and after
the desired portion. Due to the characteristics of HDV, capturing with frame-unit
precision at the beginning and end of the captured video cannot be guaranteed.
This function can capture the
following two formats.
HDV (1080/59.94i, 1080/50i)
HDV (720/29.97p, 720/25p)
HDV (720/59.94p, 720/50p) is
not supported.
Supported frame rates differ
according to regional
specifications.
An HDV stream shorter than
one second cannot be
captured.
