CAUTION:

CAUTION:
To guard against electrical shock, always unplug your computer from
the electrical outlet before removing the cover.
CAUTION:
Do not operate your equipment with any cover(s) (including computer
covers, bezels, filler brackets, front-panel inserts, and so on) removed.
NOTICE:
Ensure that sufficient space exists to support the system with the cover
removed—at least 1 ft (30 cm) of desktop space.
NOTICE:
The procedure for removing and replacing the computer cover is
identical for the Vostro 420, Vostro 220, and Vostro 220s computers; the illustration
provided is for example only and may not represent your particular computer
precisely.
Removing the Computer Cover

Follow the procedures in "Before Working on Your Computer" on page 35.

Lay the computer on its side, with the cover facing up.

Remove the two thumbscrews securing the cover.
