VLAN Commands
Example
The following example names VLAN number 19 with the name "Marketing".
switchport mode
Use the
switchport mode
interface configuration command to configure the VLAN membership
mode of a port. Use the
no
form of this command to reset the mode to the appropriate default for
the device.
Syntax
switchport mode
{
customer

access
|
trunk | general
}
no switchport mode
•
customer
— The port is connected to customer equipment. Used when the switch is in a
provider network.
•
access
— Untagged layer 2 VLAN interface
•
trunk
— Trunking layer 2 VLAN interface
•
general
— Full 802.1q support VLAN interface
Default Configuration
All ports are in access mode, and belong to the default VLAN (whose VID=1).
