Installing System Components
Expansion Cards
Your system provides six full-length expansion card slots configured as follows:
•
Slot 1 and 2 are
64-bit, 133-MHz (3.3-V) PCI-X
expansion slots. These slots will accommodate 133-MHz,
100-MHz, 66-Hz, and 33-MHz PCI cards and PCI-X cards.
•
Slot 3 is a x8 lane-width PCIe expansion slot.
•
Slots 4, 5, and 6 are x4 lane-width PCIe expansion slots.
Figure 3-14 shows the relative locations of these expansion-card slots

Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.

Open the plastic expansion-card retainer adjacent to the back of the empty slot. See
Figure 3-15
