CAUTION:
Whenever you need to lift the system, get others to assist you. To avoid injury, do not attempt to lift the
system by yourself.

Turn off power to the system and disconnect the power cable from the power source.

Detach all cables from the rear of the system.

If the system is a tower system, place it on its side on top of a work surface.

Open the system. See
"Opening the System" on page 53

Perform all of the additional steps to remove the system board in
"Removing the System Board" on
page 107
.

Disconnect all cables connecting the system board to the SAS backplane board, the control panel, and
any tape or hard drives in the peripheral or flex bays.

Disconnect the cables connecting the system board and SAS backplane board to the power
distribution board.

Unlock the power supplies from the system and slide them back 5 cm (2 inches). See
"Removing a
Power Supply" on page 62

Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the five screws from the power distribution board. See
Figure 3-34
.

Remove the power distribution board from the system chassis. See
Figure 3-34
