Item
Description

N
Number of nodes
IP pool for Subnet
#1
The pools of IP addresses used for static
allocation for the following groups:
1. Node_DATA1_IP = VxFlex Ready
Nodes' internal (interconnect) IP
addresses
2. SVM_DATA1_IP = VxFlex OS
Storage VM Management IP
addresses
3. MDM_Cluster_Virtual_IP_DATA1 =
the Virtual IP addresses of the MDM
cluster in the "Data1" network
For clarity, the first subnet is
referred to as "Data1"
SVM IP addresses are
relevant for ESXi nodes, only.
The formula to calculate the subnet pool or subnet needs is:
N*Node_DN*SVM_DATA1_IP
+MDM_Cluster_Virtual_IP_DATA1
IP pool for Subnet
#2
The pools of IP addresses used for static
allocation for the following groups:
1. Node_DATA2_IP = VxFlex Ready
Nodes' internal (interconnect) IP
addresses
2. SVM_DATA2_IP = VxFlex OS
Storage VM Management IP
addresses
3. MDM_Cluster_Virtual_IP_DATA2 =
the Virtual IP addresses of the MDM
cluster in the "Data2" network
For clarity, the second subnet
is referred to as "Data2"
SVM IP addresses are
relevant for ESXi nodes, only.
The formula to calculate the subnet pool or subnet needs is:
N*Node_DN*SVM_DATA2_IP
+MDM_Cluster_Virtual_IP_DATA2
IPv6 addresses
IPv6 is not supported in VMware converged solutions. For more information, contact
Customer Support.
VLAN support
VLAN support provides much greater flexibility in system deployment. VLAN IDs can
be assigned to various system components (SVM, ESXi Host, BMC (iDRAC), data
network 1 and data network 2). Each data and management network can reside on a
different VLAN, enabling network separation at a much higher granularity than
previously possible.
The network administrator may configure a different VLAN ID for each of the
following networks:
