2. In the left panel, click ESRS.
The Set ESRS Server panel is displayed on the right side of the window.
3. To configure ESRS properties, do one of the following:
a. To add the first ESRS server, type its IP address in the ESRS IP Addresses
box.
b.
To add another ESRS server, click the Add button
.
A new row is displayed. Type the additional IP address in the new box.
c.
To remove an ESRS server, click the Remove button
next to the item
that you want to remove.
4. In the User Name box, type the ESRS user name.
5. In the Password box, type the corresponding password for that user.
6. In the Connect-In IP Address box, do one of the following:
a. To add the IP address, type the AMS’s IP address.
b.
To remove an IP address, click the Remove button
next to the IP
address.
7. If you do want to use the ESRS feature, and you want to disable alert messages,
select the Allow configuration with no ESRS registered check box.
8. Click Save.
9. Edit the esrs.properties file and add the SWID to the
ForcedSWID
field.

10. Restart the AMS service.
Results
ESRS configuration properties have been saved in the VxFlex OS system. To validate
the connection, proceed to

Verify that ConnectEMC (ESRS) is correctly configured and is communicating with
Dell EMC Global Services, by performing a dial-home test.
About this task
This procedure describes how to quickly verify the connectivity between the ESRS-
GW and ESRS servers, either after installation or after registering to ESRS. The
ESRS-GW is located at the customer's site and has a verified connection to ESRS
servers as part of its installation.
Procedure
1. While logged in to the ESRS-gateway as the gpadmin operating system user,
remove the contents of the directory
/opt/connectemc/archive
.
