b. To use all available NICs for storage (Linux systems only), select that option.
All available NICs are displayed for configuring.
c. Type the IP address for the cluster virtual IP.
d. Type IP address ranges for the data network, using the same options as
those described for the management networks.
Note:
If the non-AMS-managed system has both ESXi and Linux nodes,
only type the addresses for the ESXi hosts in this step.
e. Type ranges for both the ESXi host as well as the SVM that resides on each
host.
f. Click Next.
8. (Optional) In the DNS and NTP screen, type the IP addresses of the DNS and
NTP servers, then click Next.
Note:
Type the IP address, not the hostname.
In RHEL environments, click Finish, then the Add Nodes option is displayed.
9. (Optional) In the Virtualization screen, define the vCenter:
a. Enter the vCenter IP address and credentials.
b. Click Test connection.
c. Select a data center to use for the ESXi nodes.
d. Click Finish.
The AMS setup is complete.
10. If the non-AMS-managed system has both ESXi and Linux nodes, add the Linux
nodes (otherwise, skip to the next step):
a. From the VxFlex OS GUI, select System Settings
>
Management and Data
IPs.
b. Select Disable range validation (Mixed mode).
c. Select the IP address version (IPv4 or IPv6) in IP address version.
d. On the Management Network screen, type the IP address ranges for the
management networks.
e. On the Data Network screen, type the IP address ranges for the data
networks.
f. Click Save.
The Linux nodes from the non-AMS-managed system are ready for AMS
takeover.
11. Ensure communication between ESXi and SVM for AMS flows by doing the
following on each ESXi host:
a. Create a vSwitch.
b. Create a portgroup on the vSwitch with the name "ScaleIO_Internal".
c. Create a VMkernel portgroup with the IP 10.10.0.2, netmask
255.255.255.252 on the "ScaleIO_Internal" portgroup.
