Modifying the uplink port profiles
Modify the trunks that carry VSM to VEM traffic, service console and VMKernel, and VM data traffic and
run northbound from the Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch. Recommended VLAN numbers and IP addresses
are referenced in this procedure.

When modifying the uplink port profile, northbound traffic from the Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch through the
Cisco Nexus 5548UP switches is affected. For the Converged Systems, the management traffic stays
behind the vSW0 and the remaining traffic types are split among the various UPLINK port-profiles.
Before you begin
•
Verify that VLANs on uplinks exist in Cisco aggregation switches.
•
Verify the use of jumbo frames.
•
Obtain the IP address of the Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch VSM.
