4.
Remove the right rear fender and splash shield,
as described in the water pump and alternator
belt section of this chapter.
5.
Disconnect the differential lock control cable at
the differential end, and move it out of the way.
See Figure 8.121.
5a. Loosen the differential lock cable bracket
to provide extra slack in the cable.
See Figure 8.122.
5b. Disconnect the differential lock cable as
described in the Driveshafts, Axles, and
Differentials chapter of this manual.
5c. Cut the cable ties that hold the cable to the
frame and the fuel injector rail.
5d. Draw the cable forward and out of the
engine bay.

Drain the coolant from the engine and coolant
pipes as describe in the Draining and Filling
Coolant section of this chapter.
See Figure 8.123.
7.
Disconnect the throttle cable from the engine.
See Figure 8.124.
7a. Release the retaining ring that holds the
clevis pin connecting the throttle cable
eyelet and return spring to the governor
arm.
7b. Withdraw the pin to separate the compo-
nents.
7c. Loosen the throttle cable clamp screw
using a 5/16” wrench, and release the
cable.
