7.
Remove the axle nut and the heavy flat washer
behind it using a 1 5/16” wrench.
8.
Affix an automotive hub puller to the axle and
hub assembly. See Figure 5.24.
9.
Use the hub puller to draw the hub and rotor
assembly off of the axle and hub carrier.
NOTE:
The brake rotor and spacer can slide off
leaving the hub in place or the hub and rotor can
be removed as an assembly. See Figure 5.25.

10.
Remove the hub bolts using a pair of 9/16”
wrenches. See Figure 5.26.
11.
Carefully slide the hub assembly off the axle,
and remove the from the vehicle.
12.
Remove the retaining ring that holds the bearing
assembly into the hub using a pair of internal
snap ring pliers. See Figure 5.27.
13.
Support the hub assembly in a hydraulic press
so that the bearing assembly can be pressed-out
from the inside-out.
