Remove the nut that holds the upper ball joint to
the hub, and separate the upper ball joint from
the hub as described in the Upper Ball Joint sec-
tion of this chapter. See Figure 4.59.

Disconnect the tie rod end from the hub, as
described in the Tie Rod End section of this
chapter. See Figure 4.60.
12.
Support the hub assembly and separate the
lower ball joint from the hub, as described in the
Lower Ball Joint section of this chapter.
See Figure 4.61.
13.
Carefully slide the hub assembly off the axle,
and remove the from the vehicle.
14.
Remove the brake caliper bracket and shield
using a 13mm wrench. See Figure 4.62.
15.
Remove the retaining ring that holds the bearing
assembly into the hub using a pair of internal
snap ring pliers.
16.
Support the hub assembly in a hydraulic press
so that the bearing assembly can be pressed-out
from the inside-out.
