4.8 FLEX HOSE ROUTING
6. Slide an 8-3/8” t-bolt clamp over each end of the flex
hose. Then, slide one side of the flex hose onto the
elbow support band on the rubber-”Y” and the other
end onto the right end of the center manifold.
7. To install the damper position indicator, remove existing
arrow indicator, the hardware will be reused (Figure 45).
8. Loosen and remove two 3/8” bolts at top of fan casting,
hardware will be reused.
9. Install and attach orange indicator bracket using the
two removed 3/8” bolts at top of fan casting.
10. Using the provided 5/16” X 3/4” shoulder bolt & nut,
attach gauge bar to link weldment ensuring free rota-
tion of components and that nylon in nut is engaged.
11. Using the hardware from arrow indicator, mount link
weldment on fan damper. Ensure that gauge bar is in-
serted in slot in indicator bracket so that the bar shows
the damper position on the scale (Figure 44).
12. Set the left rear manifold on the tube mounts and secure
each end with a U-bolt and two 5/16” nuts and washers.
Position as shown (Figure 45).
13. Determine the length of flex hose needed to connect the
center manifold and the left rear manifold. Cut the hose.
14. Slide an 8-3/8” t-bolt clamp over each end of the flex
hose. Then, slide one side of the flex hose onto the cen-
ter manifold and the other end of the left rear manifold
.
15. If you are installing the dual flow system onto an FD70
or CIH 2162, you will need to drill two holes for the
left hand tube mount. Using the side tube mount as
a template, position the mount parallel with the reel
mount tube. Use the middle front slot and rear vertical
slot to mark and drill the two 11/32” holes. (Figure 48).
16. Attach the tube mount to the LH reel mount using two
5/16” x 1-1/4” bolts and nuts.
17. Set the 56” aluminum side manifold on the side tube
mount. Position the manifold so that the front end is
about two inches from the front U-bolt.
18. Slide an 8-11/16” t-bolt clamp over each end of the 90
degree elbow. Then, slide the elbow over the LH end
of the front CWS manifold. Point the elbow toward the
rear manifold.
19. Insert an elbow support band into the 90 degree elbow.
20. Determine the length of hose needed to connect the el-
bow support band to the 56” manifold and cut the hose.
Leave enough slack in this portion of flex hose to allow
complete up/down and fore/aft movement of the reel.
