4.1   GEARBOX/FAN MOUNT (FD1 HEADER)

1.  Place  the  gearbox  mount  weldment  on  the  center 

adapter as shown in Figure 1. Secure using the U-bolt, 
reinforcement plate, plate spacer, 1/2” x 1-1/2” carriage 
bolts and the 1/2” flange bolts (Figure 3). Tighten all 
hardware.

2.  Install the adjustment bracket so that it is adjusted tight 

against  the  oil  reservoir  using  1/2”  x  1-1/2”  carriage 
bolts and the 1/2” nylock nuts. Tighten all hardware.

3.  Install the mount support bracket to the gearbox mount 

by drilling the hole using the dimensions in Figure 2, 
3/8” x 1-1/4” carriage bolts and the 3/8” nuts as shown 
in Figure 3. Tighten all hardware.

4.  Use a jack or hoist to position the gearbox in place next 

to the gearbox mount weldment. Attach the gearbox to 
the weldment with six 1/2” x 1-1/4” serrated flange bolts 
and the 1/2” flange nuts. Torque hardware to 75 ft-lbs.

5.  This  is  a  universal  gearbox  mount  bracket.  Refer 

to  Figure  3  and  table  for  correct  combine  mounting 
location.

NOTE

Apply a medium strength thread locking agent to the bolts 
used to secure the gearbox mount to the header and the 
gearbox to the mount.

NOTE

Using  incorrect  gearbox  location  will  result  in  reduced 
drive line life and increased vibration.

6.  Attach the PTO holder bracket to the header using two 

3/8” x 1-1/4” bolts and nylock flange nuts (Figure 3).

7.  Attach the PTO lock plate to the PTO holder bracket 

using a 3/8” x 1-1/4” bolt and nylock flange nut. Confirm 
that the PTO lock plate pivots freely.

8.  The snap pin will be used to secure the PTO lock plate    

closed.

9.  Check the gearbox and, if necessary, fill the gearbox 

with lube before use.

Use  Mobilube  SHC  75W-90  synthetic  gear  lube  or 
equivalent with the following specifications:

API Service GL-5/MT.1
MIL-L-2105D
MACK GO-J PLUS
SAE J2360
Capacity:  28 ounces (0.8 liters)
