Low O
2
alarm
Delivered oxygen concentration
is lower than set high limit
Oxygen supply loss or disconnect
or cylinder empty.
Restore oxygen supply.
Low flow reservoir is in use and:
• Patient’s minute volume has
increased
• Airway or circuit leak has
increased during Pressure Control
and so delivered minute volume is
higher
• NIV is on and bias flow was
increased
• Oxygen concentrator is putting
out a lower FiO
2
than expected
Resolve leak, evaluate patient, and readjust settings or
alarm as appropriate.
Low O
2
alarm is set inappropriately.
Set the Low O
2
alarm appropriately.
Oxygen sensor calibration was not
done appropriately.
Calibrate oxygen sensor appropriately.
Patient inhales room air through
emergency intake valve.
Make sure the ventilator settings (such as flow, tidal
volume, i-time, and trigger) match the patient needs.

Sensor Failure alarm
O
2
sensor needs calibration, is
depleted, or is past recommended
replacement time.
Perform 0.21 and 1.00 FiO
2
calibrations. If either
calibration fails when performed properly, replace the
sensor.
The system date time has reset
to 2006/01/01 or the message
“Date has reset. Please replace
coin battery” is displayed
The internal coin battery needs to
be replaced.
Revise the date and contact Covidien Technical Services
for assistance. Reference
