Check for kinks or obstructions in water lines.

temp. too high
Verify that cooling fan(s) located in the rear of the cooling section are operating.
Clean the heat exchanger grill as described in the Cooling Group Section. See
page 4-15.
Ensure that the PCU is at least 1 ft. (30 cm) from walls or other objects that might
obstruct airflow.
Lab temperature is =85°F (29°C).
Fill cooling reservoir to within 2 inches (-5 cm) of top with distilled water.
E04 error message

E05 error message
displayed; Laser bench
interlock has opened
Remove oscillator-housing lid and activate interlock switches with your finger.
If manually activating the switches with your hand eliminates the error message,
then reposition the switches higher on the bracket.
Check with an ohmmeter for continuity between the 2 poles of the thermal switch
located on top of the laser head (see page 4-2).
E06 error message
displayed; External interlock
has opened
Check customer installed lab interlock loop for an open connection.
Locate the
EXTERNAL
9 pin D connector on the front panel.
Jumper pin 9 to pin 1.
Reset the system logic by turning key switch
OFF
and
ON
.
Disable the external security (see procedure page
61
).
E07 error message
displayed; No end of charge
Check the connection of head plug cable at rear of laser bench.
Power down the system and then restart.
Replace the flashlamp in the laser head.
E08 error message
displayed; Simmer not
detected
Check fuse on rear panel of PCU (3 A 250 V).
Remove the laser bench-housing lid and install the interlock defeat bracket.
Redo system startup, page 3-1.
Observe the end of the laser head and see if a faint glow is detected.
Replace the flashlamp.
E09 error message
displayed; Flow switch stuck
Locate the pressure/flow switch in cooling section of PCU.
Check for obstruction in the water line that runs to the switch.
Check to make sure the pump is running.
Replace the pressure/flow switch.
Intra-cavity shutter will not
open
Intra-cavity shutter will not open
Software will not allow
SHUTTER
to open for 20 minutes after initial ac power on.
