Control commands
The RS232 communication parameters are:
9600 BAUD, 8 BIT, NO PARITY, 1 STOP BIT (8N1)

Note: Remember that all of the above commands must be written exactly as
shown using upper case and spaces as indicated. For instance, SH (space)1 (return)
will open the shutter.
Commands that require a parameter must include leading/trailing zeros as in the following
examples:

QS 195 (pulse division set to 195 µS)
•
VA 0.90 (Lamp voltage set to 0.9 kV)
Each command is an ASCII string, and must be terminated by a Carriage Return character. There
are two commands which cause the Surelite to send back ASCII characters;
SE (interlocks) and
SC (shot counter). The response to SE is a 2 digit ASCII code, terminated by a Carriage Return
character. This response gives the status of the system. The possible values returned are listed in
Table 6 below.
