IMPORTANT:
When installing a Smart Array 3100ES Controller, make sure
that the keys are inserted fully in the slot and that the card is level before
securing the board.
IMPORTANT:
Remove the SMART-2DH Array Controller cache board
shipping bracket (see the figure below) if installing the SMART-2DH Array
Controller into Slots 10 or 11. This will ensure the board will be installed
completely into the slot.

NOTE
: Use the procedure for installing an expansion board to install the
array controller.
NOTE
: The procedures, when used for adding a Smart Array 3100ES
Controller assume the server boot device/array is controlled by a separate
controller, and that the internal drive cage(s) that will be controlled by the
Smart Array 3100ES Controller are already cabled for operation. For example,
the internal drive cage is cabled to Slots 10/11 SCSI Port(s) on the I/O board.
NOTE
: When opening slot release levers, it may be necessary to push the
lever from outside the server to open it.
